It began with a Turkish bowl purchased at a festival in downtown Chicago. I wondered if I could replicate the intricate pattern on a canvas. With no formal training in the arts and a professional background in public health, my journey into this expressive realm has been both unexpected and transformative.

When the pandemic lockdown began, I found solace and purpose in the uncharted territories of mixed media art on canvas. Having always been "crafty," I leveraged the abundance of time the pandemic provided to delve into a passion that soon evolved into an artistic odyssey. I approach each piece with an uninhibited perspective, relying on intuition, experimentation, and raw emotion.

 

Over the past four years, I've created 100 works that span a spectrum of experiences and artistic techniques. I hope my art serves as a testament to the capacity for growth and renewal, even in the face of adversity.

 

All sales proceeds are used toward improving the lives of families in my rural Paraguayan Peace Corps village and aiding friends and families in crisis.
